About the Technology:

     The technology possesses broad application potential and can use existing 'off-the-shelf' image-capturing devices.  Providing 90% enhancement from 10% input, the technology processes still or video image input at 40 frames per second while maintaining natural color.

     Able to correct for sub-optimal environmental conditions, the technology requires only a minimal light source for operation and requires no signal emmission.

Specific Application Potential:

     Significant potential uses include object recognition systems, security and surveillance systems, and microchip compatibility.

     With the application of the technology, the operator is able to "see" in reduced visibility conditions, such as fog, smog, smoke, rain, blowing dust or sand, or low light.

     Applied to visual systems, the technology allows for remote monitoring of areas without the need for installing intense, additional lighting.

     Incorporated with robotics, the technology can improve access to otherwise physically inaccessible or restricted areas, such as underwater, in caves, or under rubble.
